• Direct contractors and visitors around a premises or site, instructing where and how best to park.

• Operate pedestrian access control turnstile and vehicle barriers as required.

• Provide a communications link with the management team regarding issues such as unknown visitors, a full car park and unexpected deliveries.

• Safeguard pedestrians and other staff where vehicles may be reversing.

• Demonstrate the HSE code of hand signals recommended by the HSE.

• Take appropriate initial action in the event of an incident.
